How To Stud a Bedsheet into an Evening Shawl

Fifteen or so years ago, my mom paid $500 for a Donna Karan Collection Studded Evening Shawl. The thing is TO DIE. Were she to purchase it today, its retail value would probs be on par with the sequined scarf below.

Is this something I can afford? Eff no. Is this something I can make? Survey says YES.

Addendum: This is an excellent excuse to watch a lot of TV and still feel productive.

Just make sure you’ve got options beyond The Hills and/or The City.

I don’t want anyone getting dumber on my watch.

That scarf is so chic! You inspired me to go to my local thrift store… I went on veteran’s day when then had a 30% off sale on the entire store!! I picked up 7 items including a great dress suit for less than 25 bucks. Thanks for your great tips.

i’m not sure if you know, but they sell pre-studded fabric. my dad had some left over from some (believe it or not) church thing and gave me the extra fabric. i’m using it as a cover for an end table right now, but the pre-studded fabric actually looks very expensive. not as fun as a diy, but still studded

Hey! I’m a huge DIY-er and thrifter as well!

I live in a rich bitch town on Long Island, and everyone makes fun of me for my funky thrift store clothes, but i don’t care MORE MONEY IN MY BANK ACCOUNT! And i do have to say, no one can beat my killer outfits no matter how much they go to Bergdorfs.
