Ahh, the Cutout Trend: Another way for fashion to con us into overspending on something easily achieved for the cost of an Xacto knife.
Cutout tees are everywhere at the moment. Do yourself a fave and don’t go snapping one up from H&M or Forever 21, for the best things in life aren’t cheap – they’re FREE.

This is not rocket science, people. It’s just a plain ol’ Men’s Hanes V-Neck tee. My process was as follows: I cut an inch and a half off the bottom hem, and used most of the snipped material to belt the waist for shape. I then cut the leftover material in half and used it to bunch and tie the sleeves. Subtle yet voluminous shoulder pads accomplished! (Okay maybe not, but the ruching gives the sleeve some oomph, no?)

A few strategically placed slices with my craft knife later, et voila! Trendy tee, sans spending money.

Hmm, I think I may make a tee with huge slashes across it, cause I never was one for subtlety.
hey A…. this is my kind of style…! I’m Matt’s roommate and I love him and hear you are even better… hope to meet you soon and I’ll keep checking your blog know that I know where to find it!
I have to say that’s kind of cute!! Good idea for the beach. Or, maybe put a colored tee underneath, cut the bottom off that one and braid the two colors for the belt. Yes? No? Would be cute and would give it more substance.
Hi! I love your blog-I’ve been reading it for some time.
I did the skull cutout shirt tutorial on my site – along with a printable skull template if you’re interested!
