Hussein Chayalan Makes J Brands Even Pricier

I don’t know who Hussein Chalayan is, but my hunch is that his recent
collabs with J Brand Denim might have something to do with the fact that
$752.00 Silk Tops just aren’t flying off the shelves like they used to.
From the
overwhelmingly pretentious promotional video one might gather that self-importance is as In as Skinny Jeans for fall.
Pop Quiz: You’re buying your next pair of J Brands…
(A) At Barneys – Chayalan’s denim effort might cost a little more than the line’s non-collabs jeans, but you’re all about the $250 Skinny.
(B) Online – at Shopbop, you can get the
Love Story Flares pictured for $125.30 (reduced from $179). Not a bad denim deal.
(C) At Buffalo Exchange – if Cheap JAP can find the same Love Story Flares at re-sale for TWENTY ONE DOLLARS, there’s gotta be some other fab designer denim options too.
(C) is the obvious choice, and yes, I did. I’m in Jersey for the weekend and forgot my effing camera, so stay tuned for pics and tag proof. Booyahkashaaaaa.
J Brand “The Doll” jeans for $5 over here — a thrift store clearance sale is a thing of beauty.
I thought those low rider type jeans were no longer worn. I was happy that I wouldn’t have to look at butt cracks anymore. This is very sad news, indeed!!
And Mr. Chayalan is a piss-poor designer, in my opinion. But, that’s just me!!
Hussein Chalayan is one of my favorite designers, (to look at, not wear, lolz) but I do NOT understand this collab. He makes like super artsy/conceptual stuff with LED lights and special effects…..so why make jeans?? Plus that caterwauling music in the promo video was highly annoying, and the pants made the models butt look flat. Def not wasting my time on these $250+ jeans…..

i didnt know where i should email you so i figured i would just leave a comment with you. i went shopping today at a bcbg outlet and got a grey longsleeved cashmere v-neck sweater with a hood that retailed for $322 for TWENTY DOLLARS. i of course though of you when i made my purchase and couldnt wait to share my purchase with you!!
