Pajamas Cost How Much, Elle?

I’m no trend enthusiast, but I’m totally on board with this
Pajama Party thang. Wearing your PJs night and day sounds like a fiscally friendly move. Unless you’re Elle, in which case, it’s not.

Okay, so these shirts are kind of cool. They’ve got that maybe-I-slept-in-this-maybe-I-didn’t vibe going on and, like lingerie in Clueless, remind boys of being naked, and then they think of sex. Unfortunately, they’re 100% silk. The Adam by Adam Lippes Silk Shirt retails for $265; the Clare Tough Silk Shirt goes for $480. Great job on those practical product recs, Elle.

Since I obvs won’t be spending what amounts to a designer handbag on a nightie, I went a-hunting for alternatives. I found this faux silk, robe-like thing in Mommy’s Closet.

The brand is Kama Sutra (I know, eew. Krip and SP, insert Enigma joke here). She’s had it since 1992 and hasn’t worn it in at least five years, which puts it in the Automatically Re-appropriated By Moi category.

As this PJ garb looks fab with straight leg jeans (F21, my FAVES), it’s totally in sync with the trend. It also cost me nada, and is henceforth totally in sync with my budget.

Now THAT’s what I call a Pajama Party.

clueless really is the bible. good one. and awesome idea, you’ve managed to make “underwear as outerwear” less skanky than it sounds! though i have to admit, with the title i expected an article about how pointless it is to buy pjs when your old clothes turn into them for free! or maybe that’s just me…….
