I know most designer’s price points by memory, but I actually had to google Marc Jacobs, as the bulk of his clothes are too fugly for my radar. Once in a while, however, he comes up with something decent. Case-in-point: This jersey-knit drapey top.

As
MARC by Marc Jacobs Tops retail for $150 or so, I obvs didn’t buy this new.
T.G.F. Beacon’s! Their Park Slope locale priced this little number at $17.95. Me likey.
MJ’s stuff rarely accounts for boobs, so I tucked the straps into a black bra for some more legit coverage. Post-adjustment, I paired the top with those fab Edun Jeans from Buff Exchange.

If I wanted to sound like a pretentious jackhole, I’d call this outfit a Study in Gray. I used a purple ribbon as a belt for the same reason Auntie Albert (read: Nathan Lane, in The Birdcage) paired his suit with hot pink socks.
“One does want a HINT of color!”
Tee hee.
It looks fantastic on … I would’ve passed it over for looking rumpled and weird on the hanger. Good eye!
Beautiful!!
This is actually one of your hottest outfits.. hmm I love the ingenious purple ribbon belt.
I’ve been reading your blog for a while and like it, but your Birdcage quote has totally won me over! Long live Albie and CheapJAP!
