Aaaand My Jumper Addiction Strikes Again

A few months ago, I was lingering in American Apparel after having selected some leggings. This is never a good idea, as I always end up in the dancewear section on the brink of buying something stupid. That day, I came thisclose to purchasing the Pique Cross-Front Jumper (and/or Romper – the debate continues); a way-too-short number that was probs concocted by Dov Charney himself so he could ogle his models in it, a barely-there garment AA had the gall to charge $38 for. I knew I’d only wear it sparingly, if at all, yet I was irrationally, inexplicably drawn to it all the same. This is the mark of addiction, people. It took me ten solid minutes to snap out of it and Just Say No.

When I saw the very same Rumper on the racks at Buff Ex for NINE DOLLARS, I seized it immediately. I didn’t care if I never wore the thing in public. I just needed to own it, to take it home and prance around my apartment in it. Also, I was armed with store credit, so instead of being out forty bucks, I basically spent nada.

One could, in theory, get away with the Rumper if opaque tights and a long-sleeved shirt were part of the equation. I’d be lying if I said I had the balls to wear this outfit in public, but maybe someday, I will. And if that day comes, it’ll be the best nine bucks I’ve ever spent.

A senseless justification? Probs.

But like I said. I’m addicted.

  • I love this outfit. I think you could get away with it for sure on one of those mild winter days we’ve been having or if you wore a long kick ass coat over it. BTW, you’ve finally convinced me to get the AA leggings. I’ve been wearing ones I got from discount dance that were only $6.95 but those just don’t fit tight enough to make me feel fab unless I wear tights under them.
