When you’re on a tight budget, extraneous purchases often come with a side helping of guilt. If shopping is to be fun, we must get the guilt OUT. Ranked in accordance with the level of guilt our purchases are apt to make us feel, the Triad looks like this:
3. Fast Fashion
-trends-for-less + environmentally unsound = some guilt
2. Responsible Retail
-reasonably-priced staples + eco-conscious brands = less guilt
-cheap material thrills + recycling others’ castoffs = zero guilt
Just a theory. In other news: No, you’re not hallucinating – I chopped off all my hair. After ten years of doing the long locks thang, it was time. New year, new ‘do and all that jazz.
To those with long hair considering a change: DO IT.
It takes a fraction of the time to style; it’s a lot more fun to experiment with; it will make your life easier and better.
(FYI: Post-cut ponytails can be donated to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.)

LOVE the new hair! Another place to donate is http://www.locksoflove.org/
Go you!
i LOVE your hair. it looks great short. i love short hair, but my hair has a horrible cowlick.
Hey, congrats on your hair! I have been going in the opposite direction; after years of short hair, I’ve been growing mine out for the past year or so. However, I did get bangs for the first time since I was six, just last week. And I totally concur: it’s a lot more fun when you make a big change to your hair.
Love your new hairstyle! And bcuz of u I am going to try to thrift and splurge less! My mom loves u for that!
Gahhhh…this year will be my 2nd time donating to Locks of Love. I’ve been thinking about chin length (short bangs or no?) and do the japanese straightening. I’ve done the japanese straightening thing with long hair before and quickly got bored with it. I’m hoping with chin length bob, it will feel a lot different to me.
I’ve had some sort of long hair for so long….I just might take the plunge sooner rather than later.
Good for you for donating your hair!
BTW – where did you go for your cut? I’m thinking of switching my hair guy…
LOVE the new hair! You look great!
I THOUGHT that was a new ‘do you were sporting, lady. LOVE it!
Your hair looks fabulous! Speaking of Heat-Tech tops, I should go back to Uniqlo for some. Will you be scoping out the spring +J collection?
look at you with short hair…! super cute. you look very grown up.
you and your hair look great ^_^
Looks great, girl!
The hair cut is fantastic! I just cut mine and agree with you: if you’re considering it – JUST DO IT.
So easy to style and hair always grows back!
