Weather Is A State Of Mind

The weather in NYC’s been a bitch and a half as of late; one day it’s 60 and sunny, the next it’s 40 and rainy, it’s like the sky is PMSing or something. I’m a naturally impatient person, doubly so where shopping’s concerned – if I can’t wear it that day, that SECOND if I feel like it, I’m sooo not interested. Alas, I’m equally impatient for the outdoors to warm up. On a dreary day last week, I found myself as moody as Mother Nature herself…until I saw this terrycloth/nylon blue/floral jumpsuit.

As I’m from the Jersey Shore, I’m constantly on the hunt for outrageous beachwear. And This. Was. It. It was light enough wear over a bathing suit and ridiculous enough to crack up my entire family. Just the thought of wearing it in a few months made me happy.
The length of the pant-portion was somewhere in between capri and ankle, so I cropped them a bit. Also, the lower-portion of the jumpsuit initially billowed out so much that it looked like a dress from certain angles, so that had to be dealt with if the garment was to serve its original purpose. I used the excess leg material to cinch the pant-portion around the calves, and subsequently put any doubts of the onesie’s Jumpsuit Amazingness to rest.

Beachtastic Jumpsuit, Beacon’s Closet, $16.95.
