Brandname Blazers, Goodwill Price Points

Ahh, the perfect blazer. A known staple, and something Nina Garcia might refer to as an investment piece: Research the lot, try on a lot, save a lot so you can spend a lot once you’ve found the One for you. I’ve got a few problemos with the concept of the investment piece, specifically with blazers being classified as such:

1. I’m psychotically obsessed with blazers.

2. I effing LOVE to shop.

If every blazer I purchased was an investment piece, I’d be evicted from my apartment, disowned by my parents, threatened by creditors, and shit outta luck. I had ten in my closet at the time I happened upon the gems pictured, and I STILL bought them – that makes twelve. Some of said blazers have been charitably gifted by Mom, but the bulk of them were bought on my own dime. Brands include, but are not limited to: Tahari, Banana Republic, Piazza Sempione, Marc Jacobs and, after these two puppies, Theory and DSquared.

How can I afford to satiate my sick need for an abundance of labelicious blazers? It’s not magic. It’s thrift. Duh.

I snagged the Theory and DSquared blazers at the Chelsea Goodwill a few weeks ago, both of which retailed for at least $150. I paid $14.99 and $16.00, respectfully. I shit you not.

To be fair, if you hate shopping, investing in one blazer in lieu of paying $30.01 for two might be a solid idea. Enjoy getting ripped off, and get the eff off my blog ;) . (Kidding. To each her own.)

Stay tuned for outfit pics starring my thriftastic finds.
